It’s so freaking beautiful that you will most definitely cry. However, if this doesn’t bother you and you read strictly for story and characters, you’ll love this story. Books by Tillie Cole (Author of A Thousand Boy Kisses) Books by Tillie Cole Tillie Cole Average rating 4. Overall, if you don’t like stories that have clichés in them or overused tropes, then this is definitely not the novel for you. They were absolutely adorable together and their feelings were palpable, which is why it made me so emotional in the first place. I did find Rune to be a little overdramatic at times, but hey, he’s only a teenager so it made sense. I love that Poppy and Rune’s romance stemmed from their childhood romance. It was beautiful and Poppy and Rune’s story is one of my favorites. I don’t take books lightly that make me cry because I know there is good writing there to make you feel those intense emotions enough to cry. The last time I did that was probably over seven years ago. People have learned what makes writing good and while they’re overused, so many clichés are what make a book spectacular. Here’s the thing, though, they’re clichés and tropes for a reason. It is full of so many clichés and tropes that you have to wonder whether or not the author just looked up a list of the most popular ones and made them into a book. Well, I’ll tell you one thing, I understand why some people hate this book.
